Starfield found dishes of worms and alien beetles

During the presentation of Starfield Direct, Todd Howard mentioned that the team was obsessed with food, paying special attention to the edible equipment of the protagonist of the game. Indeed, the words about the obsession with food can be believed – dishes in Bethesda games have always looked appetizing, especially recalling The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

STARIFELD dishes look beautiful and stylized – the products are packed in realistic hermetic bags, similar to those in which food is stored at the International Space Station. But some food supplies raise questions.

Appetizing fried beetles in Starfield

So, Bethesda demonstrated a strange dish called Trilo Bites, which looks like 6 large orange beetles on a plate with a slide of butter. The description of the dish is as follows:

From this description we can understand that alien dishes are actively included in the kitchen of the inhabitants of the united colonies, the game world of Starfield. But this is not all strange food.

On one of the concept arts you can see hermetic bags of food from the manufacturer Full Food, containing worms. Cherve dishes are far from appetizing and would suit the Fallout universe more likely, where people eat something, but this type of food for the game about the future is quite justified: in the real world, humanity is looking for alternative nutrition methods to combat hunger that are hunger. includes the manufacture of synthetic meat (which will also appear in Starfield) and the transition to eating specially grown invertebrates – larvae, worms and beetles.

At the moment, the use of insects and worms for the most part refers to exotic Asian cuisine. Moreover, many people, especially in Western countries, find the fact of using insects disgusting. Nevertheless, now some animal feeds include flies larvae (grown in special sterile laboratories), and some countries, such as Japan, draw their attention to the gradual introduction of the practice of eating insects into the masses. Some start-ups are also currently known practicing the creation of food from insects, for example, burgers.

Apparently in the Starfield universe, eating beetles and worms has ceased to be a taboo, and it came back to normal – dishes of worms, beetles and larvae began to appear on sale, which the player can safely eat in food.
