Lords of the Fallen operates at a speed of 30 c/s in 1440p or 60 f/s in 1080p on consoles
During the recent presentation for the press of Lords of the Fallen, journalists had the opportunity to test the new Souls-like action, developed by HexWorks and published by CI Games.
After the game session, the media talked with the creative director of Lords of the Fallen Sezar Virtos and the executive producer Sol Gascon. During the conversation, some technical details about the modes of performance and quality of the game on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S | X were known.
On both consoles, we offer performance and quality modes. The performance mode works at a speed of 60 frames per second and a resolution of 1080p, which is a kind of standard in the industry. Quality mode – 2K (1440p) with Apskayling and a speed of 30 frames per second. But even if you play 60, Lords of the Fallen looks very good.
The game HexWorks will be one of the first demonstrations of Unreal Engine 5 level AAA. During the interview, the developers emphasized significant improvements provided by the latest version of UE from EPIC.
When we started the project, Unreal Engine 5 was not yet available. But we always had a branch with available pre -trial assemblies UE5. We always made sure that the game was compatible. When he was ready for production, we simply transferred the game to UE5. The most powerful and, say, revolutionary technology was Lumen, because it allowed us to abandon the lighting cards, the traditional way of covering the environment. Whenever we returned to designers or artists and asked: “Hey, could you move this window a little to the right so that the light focuses on this corner? They would say: “Yes, sir!”They moved it, then pressed the rendering button with the towers, and then, perhaps, we said:” Oh, sorry, I meant three meters, not two “. With Lumen, this whole process is now happening in real time, so for us it was the most important function UE5. Nanite is also magnificent because you get an improvement in quality everywhere. In addition to these two, there are other elements, such as the physics of chaos, which really helps with all the clothes, and many improvements in animation conveyors, which allowed us to make movements more smooth for both enemies and game characters. UE5 is a huge technological leap, and it will become even better.
The release of Lords of the Fallen is scheduled for October 13 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S | X.
